Frequently asked questions

What do I need to do if I have a dental emergency?

The first step is to call us straight away on 020 8883 1182.

  • We can offer you immediate advice and get you booked in for an emergency appointment
  • It is then important to find any teeth that have been knocked out biting and chewing
  • These teeth should be cleaned and stored in the mouth between the cheek and gums (but not back in the socket)
  • If possible, teeth that have moved should be gently put back in position and held in place with a tissue
  • Clean and tend to any soft tissue injuries within the mouth

Carrying out the above steps will significantly help towards your eventual recovery.

What happens at an emergency dental appointment?

The dentist will carefully assess the condition of your mouth and advise on the best course of action. They will also do all they can to give you immediate relief from pain.

In some cases it is possible to carry out treatment straight away, though in other instances a follow up appointment will needed to completely resolve the issue(s) in question.
